Games companies flock to Teesside

Middlesbrough was graced by some of the best in the games industry this week.

Game Bridge held its games industry networking event in Teesside University’s Hub with exhibitors such as Teesside’s own Sock Monkey and Fox Byte.

The event was a huge success and even saw Apple Inc.’s own ___ talking to games developers.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the next Game Bridge here

So… Mabo won The World Planking Championships – and here’s James Lees last man left on the floor

Now seriously. We let you know a few weeks ago that Mabo was nominated for nine, yes that’s NINE, The Drum Recommends awards.

Well they only went and won the award for Client Service didn’t they?

Well done Team Mabo! You’re doing Teesside proud winning national awards.

The Social Gene’s success

A massive well done to Sharon and the team at The Social Gene. They’ve had a blast this last few weeks.

The digital marketing agency got through to the finals of the If We Can You Can awards in Newcastle and are now part of its alumni.

A huge privilege with the awards being open to any North East start-up or business ideas less than three years old.

Declan Williams, Marketing Director at The Social Gene, said: “It was thrilling to get the opportunity to be surrounded by so many great North East start-ups at the Grand Final of the If We Can You Can Challenge.

“The thought of pitching our business model 16 times in one evening to almost 200 people was really, really daunting. Turned out I had loads of fun doing it.”

The Social Gene has also launched a podcast with Jackson Law Firm.

#WhatsTheLawPod even features a couple of Digital Teesside names in the first series… Peter Turner from Cocoon & Bauer and Lou Tonner from Wander Films. We really do all get everywhere.

Great work guys we love seeing different businesses working together.
